Conceptual engineering practices

Documentation status: guide — see Maturity and evidence.

This section turns the engineering chapters of the declarative guide into a practical developer workflow. It covers testing, debugging, logging and traceability, performance, extension boundaries, and governed model evolution.

A logiCells application is an executable conceptual system. Engineering therefore protects contracts expressed by concepts, relations, roles, actions, events, processes, views, services, packages, and publication boundaries - not only implementation code.

Fast paths

  1. Testing conceptual models
  2. Declarative test packages
  3. Debugging declarative applications
  4. Logging and traceability
  5. Performance and model complexity
  6. Extension patterns and boundaries
  7. Governing model evolution
  8. Engineering reproduction checklist

Core rule

When a stable conceptual contract changes, update the model, tests, examples, and documentation together. Public examples keep the source behavior but normalize historical implementation names from TXXX to XXX.
