H-Logic and SQL

This comparison helps choose a representation; it does not declare a universal winner. H-Logic is centered on concepts, roles, polyadic relations, constraints, and reasoning in the logiCells Runtime. SQL addresses different needs and may remain useful as an integration or storage technology.

Different starting points

  • H-Logic starts from conceptual meaning and roles;
  • SQL starts from its own data and query model;
  • automatic translation is reliable only when differences in identity, cardinality, context, and inference are handled explicitly.

Interoperability

An integration may project part of a logiCells model to SQL or import data from it. The projection should document what is lost, materialized, or reconstructed.

Rule

Do not use SQL syntax as the canonical conceptual model merely because it is familiar. The choice depends on the problem being solved and the required fidelity contract.
