Entities
Documentation status: reference — see Maturity and evidence.
An entity is a business concept whose instances have identity that the Runtime can address.
When to use an entity
Use an entity when a domain element:
- has its own identity;
- has a lifecycle;
- carries properties or facets;
- can participate in relations;
- can expose actions or views.
class:
name: Task
classId: tsk#task
type: Entity
concepts:
- name: Entity
facets:
- name: main
type: hypergraph
fields:
- Title: String
- Done: Boolean
An entity is not defined by its persistence table. Persistence is a technical projection of a concept that remains the source of business meaning.
