Processes
Documentation status: reference — see Maturity and evidence.
A process coordinates several steps, objects, or participants when the logic no longer fits in a short local action.
When to introduce a process
Use a process for:
- long-running work;
- several business participants;
- asynchronous steps;
- waits, messages, or resumable execution;
- a workflow whose state must be observable.
A published action can serve as the entry point and then create or start a process. The service may remain synchronous for request acceptance while the process owns the asynchronous continuation.
See Building a process.
