Conceptual Memory Layer

Documentation status: architecture — see Maturity and evidence.

The conceptual-memory layer preserves system meaning: concepts, instances, relations, roles, constraints, and derived knowledge. It must not be reduced to a table schema or a UI representation.

Responsibilities

  • provide stable conceptual identities;
  • represent binary and polyadic relations;
  • preserve the context required for interpretation;
  • provide the substrate for rules, reasoning, and application projections;
  • allow several technical projections without moving business meaning into those projections.

Boundaries

Relational persistence, indexes, embeddings, and caches are projections or optimizations. They do not replace the conceptual model as the source of meaning.

Applications and services consume this memory through published Runtime contracts. Internal storage details are not a public API.
