Generated methods and properties
Documentation status: architecture — see Maturity and evidence.
A published Runtime member is projected to an ordinary managed member when its ABI shape is supported.
Methods
The publication generator computes a canonical signature from the declaring Runtime type, method name, parameter types and return type. A stable MethodId is derived from that signature before target-language generation.
This means overloads are not identified only by their C# spelling. Their Runtime parameter and result types participate in the ABI identity.
Generated application code can therefore remain idiomatic:
var result = catalog.FindByName(name);
while the adapter resolves the generated descriptor to the corresponding Runtime TypeId / MethodId invocation.
Properties
Readable and writable published properties are emitted through separate ABI getter/setter operations but can remain a normal property at the managed layer:
var title = item.Title;
item.Title = "Updated";
The ABI distinction between getter and setter is an implementation detail of the generated binding and should not leak into ordinary application code.
Overloads and inheritance
The generator explicitly tracks declaring type and canonical signatures. It also records dependent/ancestor types required by the generated surface.
Publication filtering prevents unsafe inherited implementation members from being exported merely because reflection can see them. Explicitly published members can still be exposed when the publication policy allows it.
Unsupported shapes
A member is omitted when one of its parameters or its return type cannot be published safely. The current generator contains explicit guards for unsupported record-by-value cases, method-reference forms and other ABI-inaccessible types.
This is preferable to generating a managed method whose native representation is undefined.
Local and remote calls
The managed call shape does not need to encode the transport. A local adapter can dispatch the member to the native ABI; an RPC adapter can serialize the same invocation identity and arguments to a remote Runtime.
